Concept
The central concept comes form the history of bicycle racing, so strongly tied to the histroy of the newspaper. In fact most of the big races in Europe got their start as a means of selling more papers. The men-in-tights team liked the idea of a modern newspaper, highlighting the feats of modern cyclists.
Development
Building the site within the Blogger template framework had its challenges, but the design took shape regardless.
The finished site is a collection of cycling references old and new and has lifted daily traffic 3-fold.
